The WordPress Automatic Upgrade plug-in is so useful that I had my WordPress-hosted site upgraded to version 2.6, from version 2.5.1 in less than 120 seconds!
Added to that, the plugin page now is more organised in the sense that you can see what are the active plugins and the inactives.
I am probably not my usual cautious self today somewhat. Usually I will wait a month or so before upgrading, so that all the kinks can be ironed out. This time though, I throw caution to the wind and decided to just upgrade it. I am pleased with the results. My plugins did not suffer; this may not be part of the upgrade result but I do feel that my site is loading up faster. This could only be a perceived opinion on my part, still. – haha! such childish demeanours are normally left for juveniles, but oh well, I am feeling YOUNG today!
So, people, have a go at the upgrade using the WordPress Automatic Plugin. It just makes upgrading so much easier.
The WordPress Development Team have come up with a video to explain what you can find with Version 2.6. The versioning control in a GUI-like experience is a helpful tip.
