rara.com launches in Singapore

UK-based rara.com launches in Singapore today. The following are the highlights of this global digital music service.

 

  • rara.com streaming music service to launch across Singapore, Australia and Canada
  • Ad-free access to >10 million tracks from just SGD$0.99 per month in Singapore, AUD$0.99 per month in Australia and CAD$0.99 in Canada
  • HP to pre-load rara.com on HP PCs in Singapore, Australia and Canada
  • Grammy award winning Imogen Heap named first Associate Editor of rara.com
  • rara.com secures licensing from Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, EMI Music, Warner Music Group
  • rara.com now live in 20 countries across the Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas
  • rara.com releases consumer research showing 70% of consumers do not “do” digital music today

What will be challenging to know is, if this is just purely streaming service, how much of an attraction if consumers are to know that it is a paid service, even if the first three months of the subscription is less than $1. Access to streaming music, is available on applications many easily installed applications like Windows Media Player and iTunes.
