I am looking forward to review the Sony Vaio T Series. This may not be the flagship notebook like the Sony Vaio Z series, but as the first Ultrabook offering from Sony, I definitely feel that Sony have made certain features stand out.
The Sony Vaio T Series is not stingy on its connectivity offerings. With on-board VGA, HDMI and LAN cable connections, the conventional connection methods are omnipresent. Including USB 3.0 & USB 2.0 ports is a welcomed relief. There are slots for Memory Stick and SD card too.
Compared to some of the offerings available now, Sony Vaio T series offer a hybrid storage technology of both SSD and HDD. The 32GB SSD acts as the cache memory and this shortens the boot time while reducing the time required to launch frequently used applications. The Sony Vaio T Series comes with a healthy HDD size of 500GB.
The Sony Vaio T Series comes with the much vaunted “xLoud” and “Clear Phase” technologies to provide clear, sparkling sound. It also features a built-in ‘Exmor for PC’ HD web camera for higher contrast and richer colours during a video conference. There is a much lauded gesture control mechanism, which is applicable for certain applications like Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, MS PowerPoint and a few others. This gesture mechanism make full use of the webcam to respond to intuitive hand movements. Check out the video below for a quick example.
Check out the specifications table below for a quick comparison on the offerings for Sony Vaio T Series.
