IEEE ICON 2012 – FINAL Extension to Papers Submission Deadline

Due to multiple requests to extend the submission deadline, the submission of papers have been extended till 1July 2012. This is the final extension.

IEEE International Conference On Networks (ICON)
December 12-14, 2012

The 18th IEEE International Conference on Networks (ICON2012) will be held in Singapore. One day of tutorials and two days of technical presentations are planned for the conference. The conference will also include invited speakers and special sessions. ICON2012 will provide an open forum for researchers, engineers and academia to exchange the latest innovations and research advancements on next-generation computer network architectures, protocols and algorithms (wired, wireless, ad-hoc, mesh, sensor), content networking and multimedia delivery technologies, as well as centralized and distributed networked systems, applications and services.

Contributions describing original research, surveys and applications are solicited. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

- Content distribution networks
- Delay tolerant networks
- Distributed multimedia systems
- DLNA, uPnP and inter-networking
- Flow and congestion control
- Home LAN, body and personal area networks
- Media and session handoffs and roaming
- Multicasting and application-level routing

- Network fault-tolerance, reliability
- Network I/O and storage area networks
- Network pricing and billing
- Network protocols, design and challenges
- Networking issues and challenges in cloud/grid computing

- Networking issues and challenges in storage area networks
- Networking issues in multimedia, web and gaming applications
- Networking issues, challenges in rural living
- Networks research in military and space applications
- Next-generation networks
- Novel networked systems, applications and services
- Optical and photonic networks
- Peer-to-peer and overlay networking
- Quality of service / quality of experience
- Resource and service discovery technologies
- Routing, switching and addressing
- Scalable and robust media streaming protocols
- Scheduling and resource management
- Tools and techniques for network simulation and measurement
- Traffic engineering and management
- Wired/wireless mesh, mobile, ad-hoc networks

The proceedings of ICON2012 will be included in IEEE Xplore.

Submissions should present original, unpublished research and be no longer than 6 pages (letter, single line, minimum 10-point font) including figures. Submissions will be judged on originality, significance, interest, clarity, relevance and correctness.

Papers should be submitted electronically in PDF format. Instructions on the submission of papers can be found in the conference website
