We have now passed the halfway mark for 2012. How are you in terms of being safe online? Be it on Facebook or Twitter, the two most common social networks for now, the opportunity for malware-infected status updates have never been more apparent.
On Facebook, we have event invites for free coffee by Starbucks or a free McDonald’s meal. On Twitter, via Direct Message, we are informed in all earnestness that someone was bitching us and a link provided to give the evidence. So long as we are aware of the many possible ways that such social engineering attempts can be done to engage us, we can continue to be safe online.
