(disclaimer: I shared with these youths, my experience on live blogging & live tweeting for events)

Why not give this blog updates a see-through? They are part of the Samsung Mobile Explorers. These youths have readily volunteered themselves for this opportunity to report the events as they see.

Combining the use of various electronic devices, they use visual imagery, audio & video recordings to report the latest happenings to the various Youth Olympic Games events & sites they have been assigned to.

Head on now to these blog updates:

or if you just want to see the headlines of each blogger, head on to the Scoops tab on the Samsung Singapore Facebook Fan Page here http://www.facebook.com/SamsungSingapore?v=app_138518376169285

They are also on Facebook where you can have a single point of information here. One cool thing I like about this page is, if you click on it, enter and submit to all the requirements needed to access, is the Tweet Summary for the Day. You can have a visual overview of what people are tweeting about, with regards to #YOG.

Well, these folks do provide unfettered opinions and observations so it definitely is worth your time to check them out.
If you so happen to be on the Facebook Page, do check out the ”Spirit of the Games” Daily Photo Contest and stand a chance to win limited edition memorabilia and Samsung Galaxy S android phone!

Singapore 2010 Odyssey

March 6, 2010 by mhisham · 5 Comments

Singapore 2010 Odyssey is the first 3D virtual world based on the inaugural Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singapore from 14-26 August 2010. Travelling through space and time, you will enter a world of the future and interact with friends across the globe on a journey to discover the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect.
This is the initiative that the Singapore organisers feel will increase the participation of the younger Singaporeans, who are probably more in-tuned to the games offered within the virtual world.

I tried the game at a preview early this week and feel really at home throughout the experience. The game is smooth and controls are easy to navigate. There are useful pop-up boxes which assist with the in-game experience. This includes the navigational guide, public & private chat boxes and the games dock which enables you to choose the games you want to play. My personal favourite is archery! ;)

Here’s a quick look at the behind the scenes decision making that transpired into the virtual world.

Youth are also encouraged to create a poster design for Singapore 2010 Odyssey which has been extended to 19th March 2010. There are prizes to be won worth $6000!
