- Hullabaloo – but its been said, bad publicity is good publicity!

It is a land grab aye, make much money out of it while possible.
I personally convinced of it this way: social media doesn’t start with certifications. It begins with organisations being ready to be open and transparent, then it will come organically. Otherwise it is just one marketing effort after another to simulate the experience of “being with it” (social media that is) and not actually getting anywhere or transforming the organisation in the long run. That is a real pitfall and pity, if I must say so.

Hi,
I have read through the course outline and I realize the whole curriculum focus alot on marketing fundamentals and profits generation. Only their last module focus on social media, which make me think if it;s truly social media centric or just a marketing course trying to cash in on social media trends. hmmm….

I suppose, its geared towards those who do not have a marketing background; but wishes to employ social media professionally. To do that, they would perhaps need an understanding of the basics of KPI & ROI.
A lot of suppositions – perhaps they may fail in this, but they get high marks for trying.
