HP TouchSmart PC Blogger’s Nite!

On the 24th June 2008, Daryl Tay & Melvin Yuan from Waggener Edstrom, hosted a group of bloggers for the unveiling of the HP TouchSmart PC. Waggener Edstrom represents HP Singapore to bring in the bloggers for the social media interaction. Present at the event too are representatives of HP Singapore like Ms tan Hsu Wei, Ms Pamela Cheong, & Ms Chua Hwee Koon. Ms Joan Wong presented the overview of the HP TouchSmart PC while the technical information is presented Mr Daniel & Winston(could not get their business cards).
This unveiling, is a follow-up from Global Launch at Berlin in the beginning of June where several are revolutionary computing device was unveiled.
The HP TouchSmart PC is targeted to a growing bulk of users seeking the simplicity of photo management, pleasant viewing of Free-to-Air broadcasts as well as the latest movies on DVD. It comes with a 22inch HD Ready display with its own stereo speakers. It has a webcam as well as a built-in microphone. To assist with the transition to touch technology, wireless keyboard & mouse is provided as well.
One of the many highlights of the HP TouchSmart PC are the two finger image manipulation. As seen on this screenshot, this is a standard display of the applications available to the user. The image below show the same image with the applications icons enlarged. This is achieved using two fingers to expand the view. Listening to music is a breeze, and really a piece of cake. You just simply need to use your finger to touch on any of the albums and then drag it to the Playlist.
The HP TouchSmart PC comes with its own customised browser with smart icons on the left side of the screen. The HP TouchSmart PC is built onto a 64bit version of the Windows Vista Home Premium. This ensure robustness of operations. The HP TouchSmart PC comes standard with 4GB of RAM but can be upgradeable to 8GB, if the user so require. The HP TouchSmart PC is equipped with 500GB of HDD space, in which less than 1% of it is used for data recovery. The HP TouchSmart PC display is powered by Nvidia 9300M GS with 256MB graphic memory. It has a maximum resolution of 1680 by 1050.
