Nokia launched the E72 on November 16th 2009. The successor to the E71, it follows the mould of the successful QWERTY keypad with slight adjustments on key positioning. The changes were deemed necessary to facilitate a more natural way of communications.
Since E71, Nokia has not been relaxing on its laurel. It has in fact, taken huge strides, working with Microsoft & Lotus, to implement a smoother way for business users to download & response to work mails on the go.
A research by Nokia, shows several remarkable for Singaporeans.
Email is now a fundamental way of communicating both in our personal and work lives. The research reveals just how much of our day is taken up reading and responding to emails. These response times can be significantly reduced with Nokia mobile email, making social lives easier to manage and work situations more efficient.
80% of users would either have GMail, Yahoo or Windows Live email accounts. Nokia’s partnership with Microsoft have brought them to 90% of the IM market.
National Key Facts:
- 50% of people in Singapore polled only read an email if they know the sender.
- Over half (57%) read all the work emails they receive thoroughly while only a third (33%) will cast their eye over most of the personal emails that reach their inbox.
- One in ten Singaporeans (11%) admit to only checking the most important work emails they receive.
- Over half of people in Singapore (52%) respond quickest to their clients or customers ahead of their boss (51%) and partner (47%) – a contrast to the majority of nations where partners took precedence and customer service featured, on average, in a paltry third place.
- Ever efficient, two in five (41%) think it is important to respond quickly to those they deem the most important, with a further 38% believing that emails should be succinct and concise. This may explain why Singaporeans have one of the most rapid response times, with a third (34%) replying to an email within 10 minutes of receiving it.
